Congressman Boren visit to Ivan Crossland Sr. Football Complex

Congressman Dan Boren included a tour of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M’s new Ivan Crossland Sr. Football Complex as part of his visit to Miami on Monday.
Boren was given a tour of the building by Golden Norse head coach Donnie Bigby.

Also on hand was NEO A&M interim director of intercollegiate athletics Dustin Grover.

“It’s great that he felt it was worth his time to come by and see something that is important to his area,” Bigby said. “He didn’t have to come and check us out, but he did. For him to spend time looking at what we’re being able to do at our college, especially the Crossland Football Complex, shows he represents all of the people of District #2.

Boren’s field representative, Peggy McGehee — who is a longtime friend of Bigby, arranged the tour. McGehee’s husband, Ed, coached Bigby in high school. And the McGehee’s son, Scott, is a graduate assistant with the Golden Norse program this season.

Boren was told of NEO’s rich football tradition as well as the Southwest Junior College Football Conference.
